Application Process

Admission criteria to the University of Washington’s Imaging Physics Residency Program will be determined as per CAMPEP requirements. 

Applicants must either 1) have graduated from a CAMPEP-accredited MS or PhD graduate program, or 2) possess a PhD in physics or related discipline and have completed a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program, or 3) possess a PhD in physics or related discipline and have satisfactorily completed courses equivalent to those in a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program, as determined by the CAMPEP Graduate Education Program Review Committee (GEPRC). Individuals with other qualifications who have completed coursework that satisfies the CAMPEP standards for graduate education may be considered in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the program director.

University of Washington does not have a medical physics graduate program so offering any medical physics didactic courses at UW will not be possible. Therefore, applicants who have NOT graduated from a CAMPEP-accredited program with a Masters or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics or have not obtained a Certificate from a CAMPEP accredited program will not be considered for admission to the program. Applicants who do not have the required physics courses will not be considered for admission to the program.

Applicants with a Masters or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program with a graduate GPA of at least 3.0 will be considered for admission. Official graduate transcripts must be provided at the time of application.  We will seek candidates with research and/or clinical productivity, demonstrated interest in a clinical career path, and from diverse professional and personal backgrounds.
