These are round and smudgy on the CC view and layer on the MLO view. There is no lateral view, since these were not recalled for further work-up. Often, one cannot discern layering on the MLO view, and a diagnostic work-up is required with a true lateral view in order to be sure milk-of-calcium is present.

Spot compression magnification views should always be done in the CC and LATERAL views, so that milk-of-calcium may be diagnosed. Obtaining orthogonal views also allows localization for subsequent biopsy.
