Several calcified oil cysts are present in the upper right breast, seen better on the CC because they are so superficial on the MLO. These are fat-containing round masses with rim calcification and are classic benign findings. If you said BI-RADS 1, Normal, and chose not to describe them, that is OK in a busy practice, but this is a teaching file, so we’re getting into the details here.
As for oral boards, a statement such as “Several oil cysts are present in the upper right breast. I don’t see any other finding elsewhere in either breast. My overall assessment is benign right, negative left. Follow up mammogram in 12 months.” Blip. You’re on to the next case.
