Radiology Personnel

Dante Pezzutti, M.D.

Medical School: The Ohio State University College of Medicine
Undergraduate School: University of Dayton
Intern Program: Mount Carmel Health System, Columbus, Ohio - Transitional Year
Looking For In Residency: I was looking for a program that had depth as well as breadth. Between UWMC, Harborview, Seattle Children’s, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and the VA, I was confident that I would complete residency well versed for any fellowship and eventually for a career in either academics or private practice. Additionally, I was looking for a program based in a city that I knew my fiancée and I would enjoy being in when we weren’t working. Between the professional sports teams, great food and beer scene, and access to the beautiful outdoors, we knew Seattle was the perfect fit.
UW Strengths: I actually had the opportunity to do an away rotation at UW during the beginning of my fourth year of medical school, which gave me a great glimpse into what life would be like as a radiology resident at UW and as a resident of Seattle. The faculty and residents I met during my rotation were extremely friendly and enthusiastic about teaching, and I was able to appreciate the welcoming nature of the program first hand. Ultimately, between my interactions with faculty and residents during my rotation and during my interview day, I felt as though UW would push me to my potential both professionally and personally.
Advice: Relax and breathe. Radiology is full of people that want you to succeed. Once you develop an interest, seek out mentors and try to get a broad exposure to radiology, as there are many different paths and options within it.
Hobbies: Running, crossfit, listening to podcasts (Peter Attia - The Drive and The Huberman Lab are often my go tos), experiencing the outdoors (hiking, camping, rock climbing, skiiing), traveling, golfing, eating asian cuisine (I’m a sucker for a good bowl of Pho or Ramen), trying new craft beers and pizza (preferably together), trying to get my cat, Phoebe, to snuggle with me even though she likes my fiancée more, and of course, cheering for the Buckeyes every Saturday during the fall!
Clinical Interests: Undecided at this point but excited to experience all facets of radiology during residency!

My fiancée, Marissa, and I at Keystone in Colorado!
