Charles A. Rohrmann, Jr., MD, Endowment for Radiology Resident Educational Excellence

 
We thank our donors for your continued support to the Endowment! This newsletter features residents who participated in global health outreach, providing them with unique teaching opportunities as well as rich cultural and educational experiences. Lindsay, Zhong, and Josh each came back to UW Radiology with a new perspective on how they can make a difference in the lives of others, even across continents!
 
 
The Endowments also support residents who have been accepted to present their research at national radiology society meetings. Murat Sadic’s participation in the Future Leader Academy at SNMMI provided him with new skills and knowledge as he is now an Acting Instructor for UW Radiology in the Division of Nuclear Medicine, and resident Kevin Chorath continues to develop his network of radiology colleagues as West Coast Representative at ACR.
 
Our Diversity Visiting Student Program supported three promising medical students this year, and participant Sophie Curie subsequently matched to the UW Radiology Diagnostic Radiology residency!
 
I now offer my final words of gratitude to all of our UW Radiology family – alumni, faculty, fellows, residents, and staff – for your support and the opportunities you provided to our trainees by continuing to engage as participants in this journey!

Award-winning Educational Exhibits at RSNA!
 
Our UW Radiology residents and their faculty mentors received Cum Laude, Certificate of Merit, and Identified for RadioGraphics awards for their educational exhibits at RSNA 2023. We applaud their great work and recognition! Many of the residents received funding support from the Rohrmann Endowment to attend and present their research. Their stories and pictures will be highlighted in the year-end edition of the Endowment newsletter, and will be posted here in the coming weeks. Rohrmann Endowment funds support residents’ first-author presentations

National radiology society meetings are a wonderful opportunity for residents to present exhibits or posters displaying their research. The residents who benefit from financial support from the Rohrmann Endowment express their thanks for this funding, and also appreciate the collaboration of their co-authors and the mentorship they receive from UW Radiology faculty.

Rohrmann Endowment funds support resident research publications

The Rohrmann Endowment funded the publication of “Primary Thyroid Hemangioma, A Rare Diagnosis in a Patient with a Painless Neck Mass” and “Oncocytic Carcinoma of the Parotid Gland as a Manifestation of Birt-Hogg-Dube Syndrome” in Radiology Case Reports. This funding provided opportunities for two residents to share their research with a wide audience reach.
