Newborn female, dysmorphic facial features
Findings:
Diffuse thinning of cortical mantle with absence of septum. Fused thalami and orbits.
DDX:
For cortical thinning: Severe hydrocephalus, hydranencephaly, holoprosencephaly.
Diagnosis:
Alobar holoprosencephaly.
Discussion:
Absence of septum help distinguish holoprosencephaly from the other DDx.
