Charles A. Rohrmann, Jr., M.D., Endowment for Radiology Resident Educational Excellence

Dr. Charles Rohrmann is a UW professor of radiology whose clinical interests include imaging of the abdomen and gastrointestinal tract, including the biliary and pancreatic duct systems

A transformational educator and gastrointestinal radiologist, Dr. Rohrmann is as respected by his colleagues as he is beloved by his trainees. Dr. Rohrmann, who has been on faculty at UW Medicine since 1975, has served as director or associate director of the Department of Radiology’s residency program for almost 30 years, and he is responsible for establishing and upholding the high standards the program maintains today. Dr. Rohrmann is the first to appreciate that medicine changes at a rapid rate, and the methods of resident medical education must change, too. This endowment ensures that residents in the Department of Radiology have access to the leading-edge educational techniques, advanced learning technologies and professional development opportunities that will best prepare them for the future.

UW Radiology Reception at RSNA 2022 ... a time to reconnect

L to R: Justin Deese, Mahmud Mossa-Basha, Zeinab Abrahim, Elliot Rapp, Aaron Rutman

This year, more radiologists were able to gather in person at the RSNA 2022 annual meeting in Chicago. Although 2021 offered the opportunity for in-person attendance, we chose to host our annual reception virtually last year.

Class of 2022 (L to R): Richa Patel, Cody Rissman, Janis Yee, Niketa Kataria, (Guest: Will Carnes), Shamus Moran

With fewer barriers to travel and a robust interest in returning to in-person events, the UW Radiology Alumni & Friends Reception was held on Tuesday, November 29th at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk hotel, in the FountainView Room. This venue provided a beautiful backdrop for UW Radiology alumni to mingle with our faculty and trainees after attending sessions during the day at the convention center. UW Radiology was pleased to host 60 guests, including many recent resident grads from the Class of 2022. We were also honored with the presence of our former chair, Dr. Norman Beauchamp, who we warmly embrace as part of the UW Radiology family. This annual reception is open to all UW Radiology alumni, and we hope you can plan to join us next year if you are attending the RSNA annual meeting in Chicago!
