Biography

Dr. Domenico Mastrodicasa is an Acting Instructor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington, Seattle. A summa cum laude graduate of the Gabriele d’Annunzio University School of Medicine, Italy, Dr. Mastrodicasa completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the SS. Annunziata Hospital, Italy.

During his residency, he advanced his expertise through additional training at the Advanced Cardiothoracic Imaging Unit, Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, Rome, Italy, and the Division of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.

Upon completing his residency and becoming an Italian board-certified radiologist, Dr. Mastrodicasa decided to pursue a career as a clinician-scientist in the US and joined the Department of Radiology at Stanford University as a postdoctoral research fellow.

In 2020, Dr. Mastrodicasa was awarded a 2-year T32 grant funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering of the National Institutes of Health. Before joining the University of Washington, Dr. Mastrodicasa was the Lead Clinical Scientist of the Stanford Cardiovascular Imaging Research Group in the Department of Radiology.

Research Interests

Dr. Mastrodicasa is committed to innovating healthcare through the integration of cutting-edge technology. His research interests include artificial intelligence, cardiovascular imaging, abdominal imaging, and spectral CT imaging.

He is deeply engaged in the main radiology societies and serves as an editorial board member for Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging, European Radiology Experimental, Frontiers in Radiology, Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Topics in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Dr. Mastrodicasa has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles and ten book chapters, including top-tier journals such as Radiology, Circulation, Investigative Radiology, and European Radiology.
