Biography

Basar Sarikaya, MD, is a radiologist at UW Medical Center, currently serving as acting instructor/senior fellow of neuroradiology at Harborview Medical Center and UW Medical Center.

Dr. Sarikaya earned his MD at Hacettepe University Medical School in Ankara, Turkey and completed radiology residency at the same institution. He then completed ACGME accredited fellowship trainings of neuroradiology and vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Sarikaya had a reputable career in his home country including serving as department chair of radiology at Yeditepe University Medical School and affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Sarikaya also provided valuable clinical work in vascular and interventional radiology in his home country and efforts to raise public awareness on image guided minimally invasive treatments.

Dr. Sarikaya’s research interests in neuroradiology are neurovascular disorders and stroke and diffusion tensor imaging.
