Marissa Lawson, MD

Congratulations to Marissa Lawson, MD, who has been awarded membership to the Council of Early Career Investigators in Imaging (CECI2), Class of 2023! This membership is awarded annually by the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research (“The Academy.”)

This year’s 33 investigators were nominated by a combination of Academy member institutions, including Academic Departments, Imaging Societies, and Industries.

The Academy created CECI² in 2014 to recognize the achievements of researchers who are in the early phases of their careers and engage them in advocacy for medical imaging research funding by illustrating their research interests to policy makers in Washington DC.

Over time, as this Council has grown, the Academy created and implemented year-long virtual programming aimed to prepare, support and connect investigators as they begin the process of NIH grant applications. Each year, Academy members are called upon to nominate one career investigator to represent their department/society/company to the Council’s Class.
