Who We Are
Founded in 2006, The Bio-Molecular Imaging Center’s (BMIC) mission is to develop novel imaging techniques for anatomic, functional, tissue and molecular applications.
BMIC houses a whole-body 3.0T Philips Ingenia Magnetic Resonance Scanner for non-invasive, high resolution human and animal research. Resources for anatomic and functional studies include custom equipment and sequences, as well as the expertise of on-site MR physicists. BMIC provides state-of-the-art imaging technology and applications for studies in basic, translational and clinical research.
Research areas include: cardiovascular disease, vessel imaging, Alzheimer’s, obesity, aortic dissection, pancreatic cancer, muscular dystrophy and brain genetics. We have the Northwest’s only High-Intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) system used for disease model and phantom imaging.
We work with researchers within and the UW and across the Puget Sound region. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about how to get your research MRI project started.
