Dr. Habib Rahbar named Imaging Co-Chair of the ECOG-ACRIN Breast Committee

Habib Rahbar, MD, FSBI, UW Radiology professor and vice chair of clinical operations, will take on a new role as Imaging Co-Chair of the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group Breast Committee. In this leadership role, Dr. Rahbar will be tasked with working with the Breast Committee Chair Angie DiMichele, who oversees the entire committee and the other co-chairs of the committee to develop impactful breast cancer research trials.

Dr. Rahbar’s specific task will be to help integrate imaging into therapeutic trials, promote ancillary imaging research from legacy trials, and to foster primary imaging trials that are impactful to breast oncology care. As part of this transition, Dr. Rahbar will vacate his current role as Radiomics Working Group Co-Chair.

Dr. Rahbar also serves as UWMC Chief of Service and Co-Director of the Quantitative Breast Imaging Lab (QBI).
