Medical School: Washington State University - Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine
Undergraduate School: University of Washington
Intern Program: SkyRidge Medical Center, Lone Tree, CO - Transitional Year
Looking For In Residency: I was looking for a program with excellent teachers and mentors, diverse pathology, high volumes, and a location near friends and family with access to the outdoors.
UW Strengths: UW covers all the states in the WWAMI region which gives it an unrivaled catchment area and diversity of cases. You will be very well prepared for any fellowship or job opportunity down the road. In addition, whether you're into hiking, skiing, climbing, water sports etc, Seattle is one of the best cities in the country to pursue your hobbies.
Advice: Radiology has some of the most supportive faculty I've met during training. Seek out a mentor early who can help you pursue your passion and develop a plan for matching. There are many programs with excellent training. Make sure you find a program/location where you not only feel supported, but one that also allows you to pursue the hobbies outside of residency that make you happy.
Hobbies: Skiing, hiking/backpacking, climbing, video games, basketball, pickleball, golf, asian cuisine (sushi and ramen all day every day)
Clinical Interests: Undecided, but leaning towards MSK or neuro
