Marissa Lawson, M.D., receives 2023 GERRAF Award
Marissa Lawson, M.D., was named one of three recipients of the 2023 GERRAF (GE-AUR Radiology Research Academic Fellowship) Award. Dr. Lawson, an assistant professor of breast imaging, was granted the distinction for her project, “Disparities in Diagnostic Work-Up and Outcomes after Abnormal Screening Mammography.”
The GERRAF fellowships have been some of the most sought-after awards in academic radiology since their inauguration in 1992, according to the Association of University Radiologists (AUR). They have helped dozens of academic radiologists through strengthening the research interest of radiologist-investigators by broadening their opportunities for continuing scholarship, and fostering original clinical and health services research in technology assessment, health and economic outcome methods, and decision analysis.
Dr. Lawson joins researchers from UW Radiology who were previously named GERRAF Awardees:
- 2020 – Nathan M. Cross, M.D., M.S., “Clinical Translation of Machine Learning-based Opportunistic Screening for Imaging Evidence of Osteoporosis”
