Dr. Amir Iravani wins Mars Shot Grant

Dr. Iravani wears a lab coat, button up shirt and glasses while looking directly into the camera.The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) Committee on Awards and the Mars Shot Board has awarded a prestigious grant from the inaugural 2023 Mars Shot Research Fund to Dr. Amir Iravani, MD, FRACP, associate professor in the Department of Radiology-Nuclear Medicine and Theranostics Director at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

Dr. Iravani received the award for his proposal titled Phase II randomized trial of biomarker-modulated PSMA Theranostics compared to the standard of care

The grants recognize individuals who, “have made [a] transformative impact in the field and elevated the value of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.” Dr. Iravani’s award amount is for nearly one million dollars, and will be distributed over two years.

The goal of the SNMMI Mars Shot Research Fund is to support innovative, transformative, nuclear medicine imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy research. Read more in this article in Science Magazine.
