Biography
Dr. Murat Sadic is a board-certified nuclear medicine physician and an Associate Professor at the University of Washington. He has been actively involved in clinical and investigative applications of nuclear medicine for more than 10 years.
Dr. Sadic currently plays an active role in clinical care, research, and medical education at UW, where he also completed his Nuclear Medicine residency and PET/CT Molecular Imaging fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine, serving as Chief Resident in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Washington.
Dr. Sadic’s main clinical and academic interests include:
- Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine
- Theranostic and Individualized Nuclear Therapy Applications
- Molecular and Oncologic PET/CT Imaging
- Nuclear Cardiology (SPECT and PET)
- Development and clinical translation of novel radiopharmaceuticals
Originally, Dr. Sadic earned his medical degree (MD) in Turkey, where he also completed specialty training in Nuclear Medicine—recognized as a PhD-equivalent qualification under the European Commission’s Eurydice framework. In 2015, he joined the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) as a Research Fellow, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Heidelberg in Germany in 2018, focusing on nuclear therapies and theranostic applications.
In 2019, he was recognized by the U.S. Department of State as an “Extraordinary Academic” and granted an EB1 green card. Upon moving to the U.S., he completed his second formal residency and Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Washington.
Dr. Sadic has received several honors, including the “Young Scientific Researcher Award” (2014, 2016) and recognitions from ASNC, RSNA, NASCI, IAEA, WHO, and TUBITAK. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and serves on the editorial boards of multiple international publications.
A committed educator, Dr. Sadic actively teaches medical students, residents, and fellows, with expertise in general nuclear medicine, PET/CT imaging, nuclear cardiology, and theranostic. Dr. Sadic is an active member of several national and international professional organizations, including the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (ABNM), the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) and German Baden-Württemberg Medical Association. He currently serves on multiple committees within the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), contributing to the advancement of the field through leadership in clinical practice, education, and research.
