Biography

Dr. Lerner went to the University of Kansas School of Medicine, completed his residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2015. He completed a year of abdominal and ultrasound imaging fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Lerner was an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri Kansas-City prior to joining the University of Washington in September 2019.

Dr. Lerner’s research focuses on imaging and surgical interventions in space/microgravity for applications in Low Earth Orbit and Exploration Class Missions as well as remote environments on Earth. He is an Associate Fellow of the Aerospace Medicine Association and board certified in radiology.
