Lecture Title: “Explorative Neuro Imaging, Philips’ Perspective”

Speaker: Dr. Kim van de Ven
Senior Clinical Scientist, Philips MR

Date:  Wednesday, October 26, 2016
Time: 12:00-1:00 PM

Kim van de Ven is Senior Clinical Scientist at Philips MR, in this role she is responsible for Neuroimaging MRI collaborations with clinical and research partners, long-term clinical roadmaps that guide clinical product development, as well as feasibility research for new clinical solutions.

Kim brings over 10 years of experience in the field of MR imaging and spectroscopy. Trained as a Biomedical Engineer at the University of Technology in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, she started her career in MR imaging during her master education, with an internships on ASL perfusion imaging with Prof. Golay at the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore, followed by an MRI graduation project at UMC Utrecht. She obtained her PhD in the field of MR spectroscopy at Radboud University Hospital Nijmegen, where she studied glucose metabolism in the brains of patients with type I diabetes, using 13C MR spectroscopy. Her current interest is very diversified and ranges from clinical applications like in non-contrast perfusion imaging & angiography, intracranial black blood techniques, distortion free diffusion imaging and MR neurography, to high-end technological methods to allow for fast and robust imaging across all patients.
