Vascular Imaging Laboratory Symposium brings together international researchers

To celebrate 20 years of research, on May 1st, 2017, the University of Washington Vascular Imaging Laboratory, in the Department of Radiology held a symposium titled “International Collaborations in Imaging: Vascular & Beyond” that brought together international researchers to discuss new and cutting edge imaging techniques. Over 50 people attended the event from backgrounds including Neurosurgery, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, and Neurology. Speakers included William Shuman, MD, Chairman of Radiology at UW, Thomas Grabowski, MD, Joint Professor of Radiology and Neurology at UW, Kiyofumi Yamada, MD, PhD, from Hyogo College of Medicine, Japan and Dr. Rui Li, PhD, of Tsinghua University, China.

Topics discussed were cardiac, vascular Brain and Functional Imaging; Quantitative Imaging, Data Integration, and Deep Learning, and ways to further international collaboration and research.

The Vascular Imaging Laboratory is co-directed by Drs. Chun Yuan, PhD from the Department of Radiology and Dr. Thomas Hatsukami, MD from the Department of Surgery.
