Medical Students

The University of Washington welcomes medical students to spend time with IR service.   Our practice spans four associated hospitals, all of which serve their own unique populations.   Our world class faculty have been involved in the training of medical students from all over the country.

Preclinical medical students interested in finding out more about the field can arrange to spend a morning shadowing one of our faculty.   Medical students who seek a more in-depth exposure to IR should apply for the 4-week Interventional Radiology clerkship (Radiology 695).  This clerkship is very popular and space is limited, so we recommend that you apply early.

Medical students seeking to learn more about and get involved in the specialty can find resources at the Society of Interventional Radiology’s Medical Student Council website
